מאיה שקולניק גזית BA בסיעוד

My name is Maya Shkolnic Gazit, and I am a seasoned nursing professional with a B.A. in Nursing and an M.H.A. (Master of Healthcare Administration). I have also received post-basic training in geriatrics and clinical instruction. With expertise in nursing policy and management, as well as risk management, I currently serve as the manager of the nursing department in the geriatric ward at Bet Hadar, Ashdod, a leading geriatric rehabilitation center in Israel’s southern region, where I have dedicated over two decades of service.

In recent years, I have had the privilege of being a member of the senior committee of the Israeli Geriatric Nursing Association, actively promoting the vision and thinking for strengthening and appreciating the care and quality of life provided by geriatric teams

My key areas of focus include education, training, and recruitment of staff, developing work procedures and standardization, managing clinical supervision and control systems, and ensuring treatment safety and risk management.

I have also been involved in developing computerized software for managing databases of chronic and active geriatric patients, used by our institution and others.

I firmly believe that people are the heart of any organization, and I strive for their professional advancement and enrichment through courses, degree studies, and ongoing education. This, in turn, empowers individuals to make a positive impact on those around them.

My team and I are dedicated to enhancing the quality and safety of treatment while prioritizing patient welfare and family support.

Our nursing work at Bet Hadar emphasizes quality, patient-centered care, multidisciplinary teamwork, innovation, and safety. I am proud to lead a team that strives for excellence and is committed to improving patient quality of life with dedication and diligence.

I am proud to lead a team that strives for excellence and is committed to improving patient quality of life with dedication and diligence.

My guiding principle is “Promote the quality and safety of nursing care while maintaining patient and family welfare in the geriatric hospitalization system.”
